چکیده

A mathematical model for the simulation of spherical bubble dynamics in binary alkane mixtures is presented. Detailed heat and mass transfer phase transition are resolved, air absorption desorption considered. As example mixtures, high-volatile heptane low-volatile dodecane investigated. The component shows a convective counter-intuitive transport opposite to diffusion flux. staggered flux associated with local segregation mixture components surrounding liquid distinctive species distribution within bubble. comparative study pseudo-fluid where interdiffusion absent whose cannot segregate reveals that an oscillating bubble, hardly affects dynamics, while continuously growing superheated liquid, growth rate considerably affected, particularly low percentage. This demonstrates limitations treating by single-component surrogate fluid may serve as starting point development multi-component cavitation models computational applications real as, e.g. fuels or hydraulic oils.

Numerical Simulation of Scaling Effect on Bubble Dynamics in a Turbulent Flow around a Hydrofoil

A Lagrangian-Eulerian numerical scheme for the investigation of bubble motion in turbulent flow is developed. The flow is analyzed in the Eulerian reference frame while the bubble motion is simulated in the Lagrangian one. Finite volume scheme is used, and SIMPLEC algorithm is utilized for the pressure and velocity linkage. The Reynolds stresses are modeled by the RSTM model of Launder. Upwind ...

Interdiffusion in Critical Binary Mixtures by Molecular Dynamics Simulation

A simulation study of the static and dynamic critical behavior of a symmetric binary Lennard-Jones mixture is briefly reviewed. Using a combination of semi-grand-canonical Monte Carlo (SGMC) and molecular dynamics (MD) methods near the critical temperature of liquid-liquid unmixing, the correlation length and “susceptibility” related to the critical concentration fluctuations are estimated, as ...

Numerical simulation of bubble interactions

Introduction Single bubble dynamics has been intensively investigated theoretically, experimentally and numerically during the last century [1]. Analysis of the interactions between bubbles in a cavitating flow or the interactions among an individual bubble pair has risen from the demand of a more comprehensive understanding of bubble dynamics. When a bubble is induced near an interface by a la...

Quantification of segregation dynamics in ice mixtures

Context. The observed presence of pure CO2 ice in protostellar envelopes, revealed by a double peaked 15 μm band, is often attributed to thermally induced ice segregation. The temperature required for segregation is however unknown because of lack of quantitative experimental data and this has prevented the use of ice segregation as a temperature probe. In addition, quantitative segregation stu...

Bubble nucleation in binary mixtures: A semiempirical approach

We present a semiempirical approach to the density functional theory of bubble nucleation in binary mixtures. Intermolecular forces between solvent and solute molecules are modeled using Lennard-Jones potentials whose interaction parameters are determined by equilibrium properties of the pure liquids and the liquid mixtures. We study the temperature variation of the critical supersaturation for...
